My research interests centre on regenerative approaches for cardiac disease. In this context, it intrigues me how cellular processes in disease conditions can be deciphered and modulated with implications for the development of new and improved therapies.

To do this, it is essential to support and improve the translation of basic research to pre-clinical applications and eventually connect bench to bedside.

Ongoing projects focus on cardioprotective and regenerative strategies for ischemic heart disease, covering the full spectrum from in vitro and cell-based approaches to applications in pre-clinical disease models.
